The Echo of a Benevolent Heart

In 2015, I had a terrible back accident in Auckland. A terrible acupuncture session left me worse off, unable to stand properly. During then I had completely lost faith in acupuncture and further more, Chinese medicine.

The turning point came in late 2017. When my back was hurt again, a good friend practically dragged me to see Dr. Do, from Do’s Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I hobbled into his clinic on a cane, riddled with pain and deep skepticism. Yet, after his treatment, within half an hour, I walked out on my own, unaided. In that moment, sheer astonishment and gratitude washed away all my former prejudices.

I was fortunate to meet Dr. Do and his gracious wife. Grateful, my bond with Mrs. Do grew steadily closer. We began to involve our lives more and more with this profession,  eventually leading to  Mrs. Do encouraging me to study Chinese medicine.

It was during this time in 2018, my husband went through an open chest heart operation which left him in a coma for a few days. This became my drive and motivation. I embarked on the journey of study, dedicating six years to earn my Bachelor of Acupuncture and Master's degree in Chinese Medicine. Throughout, my godfather was my guide, imparting everything from classical theory to clinical wisdom. His compassionate heart and skill were the beacons on my path.

Today, "RY Health Clinic" (Ren Yi Health Clinic) stands. Its name carries my godfather's teaching: a Benevolent heart as the foundation, and Perseverance will in practice. From that once-despairing patient to the practitioner I am today.

 

仁心的回响

2015年，我在奥克兰扭伤了腰。一次糟糕的针灸经历让我非但没有好转，反而一度无法站立。那次之后，我对新西兰的中医彻底失去了信任。

转机出现在2017年底。腰伤复发时，好友强行将我带到了杜医师的诊所。我拄着拐杖，忍着剧痛走进去，心中充满怀疑。然而，经过杜医师的治疗，半小时后，我竟能自己轻松地走了出来。那一刻，震撼与感激冲刷了我所有的偏见。

我幸运地结识了杜医师和他温婉的太太。怀着感恩之心，我与杜太太的来往日渐密切。2018年，他们前往马来西亚学习，我与丈夫陪同并一路照顾。旅途中，情谊加深，我丈夫诚挚地认二老为干爹干娘。

回到新西兰后，干娘开始频繁地鼓励我学习中医。“你干爹这一身本事需要传承” 她说，“我觉得你可以。”

这份深厚的信任与亲情推动了我。我毅然踏上求学之路，用六年时间攻读下中医硕士学位。这期间，干爹倾囊相授，从经典理论到临证心得，他的仁心与医术是我前进的灯塔。

如今，“仁毅健康诊疗”（RY Health Clinic）得以成立。它的名字承载着干爹的教诲 - 仁心为本，毅志为行。从那个绝望的病人，到今天的医者，这条路上满是信任的馈赠与温暖的传承。这一切，始于一次治愈，成于一份无私的托付。
